Fixik is a platform for small everyday help. Whoever needs help describes the task: assembling a shelf, trimming a hedge, lending a hand with a move. Helpers from the neighbourhood respond with an offer. When the work is done, both sides confirm that everything has been taken care of.

How Fixik works

  1. Post a task. Whoever needs help briefly describes what needs doing and where.
  2. Get responses. Helpers nearby reply with a proposal and a date.
  3. Choose the right helper. Once the work is done, both sides confirm that everything is finished.

What Fixik helps with

Shopping, the garden, small repairs, furniture assembly, cleaning, moving and transport – small and larger everyday tasks. Fixik is meant for parents, people living alone and anyone who needs support.

For helpers

Anyone who can help gets their own page on Fixik – visible to people nearby who are looking for help right now.

Status

Fixik is under development and has not launched yet. The web app is running at fixik.de (External link), currently with sample data for testing. The first region is the Kelheim district in Lower Bavaria, Germany.

How Fixik is built

Fixik runs in the browser and can be installed on a phone like an app. The technology behind it: Next.js, Supabase with a database in Frankfurt, and Vercel. The code is written by AI agents following my plans; I check every result on the live site.

Mobile apps

Alongside the web app, the mobile apps for iOS and Android are being built. Until they are ready, Fixik runs in the browser and can be installed on a phone like an app.

What Fixik is not

Fixik is not a tradesman's business and does not carry out any work itself. The platform brings together people who need help and people who can help.

More

You can follow the project's progress in the Fixik diary.

Note: Fixik is my own project.
